Redirection doesn't make sense if page doesn't

[edit]

The conclusion that the person isn't notable is short-lived. Keeping personal biases aside, the page shouldn't be internally linked with reference of a legal case. The motive of page creation was to discuss the persona with current context along with the legal term served. Else this page shouldn't be redirected at all. The article is about the hit and run, but the party's name is a likely search term for somebody looking for the article. Thus, a redirect is appropriate. —C.Fred (talk) 21:18, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't agree to most assumptions like this and I think it is the other way around. The motive of Wikipedia isn't to assume what people are looking for and showcase it as a redirect for future users. If there are searches for the person, we can't just assume relevance or context. I therefore tried to create a genuine dedicated page for Sanjeev Nanda discussing both past incident of hit and run as well as his current work, but it was adamantly rollbacked. As Polyamorph noted, Nanda is not notable, although the hit-and-run incident is. That's why there is an article about the incident but not about him. —C.Fred (talk) 21:58, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The hit-and-run became notable because Nanda and his family is renowned in India (I know it because I have read and written about such cases in the past). That said, I considered GNG while creating this article. It would be great if you can tell me why it is not possible to create the page even though there were citations from reliable sources for Sanjeev Nanda about his business around vaccines, hotels and hit and run. Or is it that considering the history and nature of edits for the Sanjeev Nanda page, senior editors/admins have somehow decided to block its creation and keep it redirected to the hit and run till eternity???
